Accessibility Statement

What we build toward, where we fall short, and how to tell us.

Last updated 27 September 2026

1. Our commitment

We want cine.gallery to be usable by people with disabilities, and we treat accessibility failures as defects rather than as requests. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 at Level AA, and we design to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and its Information and Communications Standards.

2. What we have built in

  • Keyboard access throughout, with visible focus and no traps. Dialogs trap focus deliberately and return it where it was.
  • Semantic structure and labels, so screen readers announce controls rather than describing shapes.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 pixels on small screens.
  • Reduced-motion support: where your system asks for less motion, videos do not start by themselves and zoom and pan stop easing.
  • Text alternatives for images, built from the title and tags you give an asset.
  • Contrast that meets the standard for essential text.

3. Where we fall short

We know of limitations and would rather name them than imply there are none. Deep zoom and pan on a frame is inherently visual and has a keyboard path but not an equivalent experience. Some dense metadata layouts are demanding at high magnification. Waveform navigation has full keyboard control but conveys shape visually. We are working on these and will update this page as they change.

4. Alternative formats and support

If any part of the Service, or any document on it, is not accessible to you, write to contact@cine.gallery. We will provide the information in an accessible format or with communication support, at no additional cost, and we will agree the format with you. We aim to acknowledge within five business days.

5. Telling us about a barrier

Please tell us what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and what you use — browser, screen reader, magnification, anything relevant. We will confirm we have it, tell you honestly whether it is a quick fix or a longer one, and let you know when it changes.

Feedback about accessibility is welcome by email at any time, and we will never ask you to file anything formal to be taken seriously.

6. If we have not got it right

We would like the chance to fix it before you escalate. That said, you may raise a concern with the appropriate authority at any point, and asking us first never affects any right you have.

This statement is reviewed with each significant release.

7. Talking to us first

If anything in this document, or anything about how we have treated you, concerns you, write to contact@cine.gallery before taking a formal step. We reply within five business days and tell you what we can and cannot do.

Nothing here removes any right you have under Canadian law or the law where you live, including your right to complain to a regulator or, in Ontario, to bring a claim. We only ask for the chance to put it right first.

If you have questions or concerns relating to this document, contact us here.
