1. Before anything formal
If you believe material held in cine.gallery infringes your rights, please write to contact@cine.gallery with the details. Libraries here are private, so in practice this usually concerns material a member has shared outward. Almost every report we have seen is settled within a day by email. We would like yours to be one of them.
2. What to include
- Your name and contact details, and who you act for.
- Enough identification of the work to know what it is.
- Where the material is — a link, a share address, or a description precise enough for us to find it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, an agent or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act.
3. What we do
We acknowledge within five business days. Where a report is well-founded we disable access to the material and tell the member why, so they can respond. Repeat infringement leads to account termination in appropriate circumstances.
4. If your material was removed
Write to us. Tell us why you believe you have the right to hold it — a licence, permission, or a lawful reference use. We will consider it seriously and restore access if we are satisfied. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.
5. Canadian notice and notice
Where Canada's notice-and-notice regime applies, we forward qualifying notices to the member concerned as the Copyright Act requires. We do not disclose a member's identity in response to a notice without a court order.
6. Misuse
A notice that misrepresents material as infringing may make the sender liable for damages. Please be sure before you send one.
7. Talking to us first
If anything in this document, or anything about how we have treated you, concerns you, write to contact@cine.gallery before taking a formal step. We reply within five business days and tell you what we can and cannot do.
Nothing here removes any right you have under Canadian law or the law where you live, including your right to complain to a regulator or, in Ontario, to bring a claim. We only ask for the chance to put it right first.
