01How it works
Before a file uploads, it is compared with what you already have. Likely duplicates are held and shown to you side by side so you can keep one, keep both, or skip.
02Turning the prompt off
In Settings → Uploads and playback you can stop duplicate review from opening on its own. Possible duplicates then wait quietly in the activity panel until you look at them.
